On Sunday 22nd February, the City of Perth, in association with the Chung Wah Association, held their annual Chinese New Year Fair. A family-themed one-day street celebration taking place in Northbridge, I was tasked with designing an eye-catching flyer to advertise the day’s attractions, events and times.
Chinese New Year is a major festival for most Australian cities, and particularly for such a diverse multi-cultural city as Perth. From multi-cultural entertainment to more than 100 stalls selling food and a range of products and services, it was a huge event for Perth with thousands of people attending the festival.
It was a challenge to incorporate all of the necessary information into a small brochure style flyer. But I was very happy with the end product. In fact, the cute goat I designed for the promotional material was printed onto t-shirts for the Chung Wah Association’s event staff. It was actually quite a buzz to see people wearing t-shirts with my design!
